When Tex Houston learns that his mother has been murdered by a gang, he immediately heads to Santa Fe to track down the perpetrators. The city is run by a man named Foster, who, out of self-interest, asks him to become a marshal. Tex sees through Foster from the very first moment and plays along. He proceeds so vigorously that Foster soon wants to get rid of him so he can continue his shady business. Tex ends up behind bars, but nothing will stop him from finding his mother's murderer.
