West Is West plot
Dick Rainboldt signs an employment contract to work in a gold mine. Rainboldt doesn't realize he's been hired as a strikebreaker. Rainboldt has accepted the job mainly because he wants to be closer to the beautiful young Katie Wigfall who lives in the city. Connors, the mine superintendent and manager, convinces Rainboldt to blow up the mine to make it look like the striking miners did it. But Rainboldt doesn't intend to, on the contrary, he turns against Connors and his associates, which also gives him extra credit from Katie.
