Trail to San Antone plot
"Brand new thrill on a grand old trail!"
Gene Autry sets out to help young jockey Ted Malloy. His career as a jockey seems to have come to an end due to an accident with a horse. The horse's unscrupulous trainer appears to be primarily responsible for the accident. Gene is convinced he can get the jockey riding again if he only regains his confidence. Meanwhile, Gene's sidekicks have bought a stolen wild stallion. The stallion escapes and takes with him a fast mare intended for the crippled jockey. Gene starts chasing the horses in a helicopter.
