The Texan plot
"A thrilling tale of the great south-west."
The Texan Tex Benton is in New Mexico and will show the population how a Texan hits the nail on the head. Easterners Alice Marcum and Winthrop Endicott arrive by train and are impressed by Tex's masculinity. The rivalry between the two men for Alice's favors is pushed into the background by Jack Purdy, who plans to sabotage Tex's appearance at a rodeo show. That plan fails, but Purdy manages to take Alice to his hideout. Endicott saves her, thinking he killed Purdy. He therefore ends up in jail.
