Nevada Jack McKenzie drives into the town of Blackwell and soon discovers that the sheriff and the town banker are the leaders of a gang of thieves. Marshal Sandy Hopkins arrives just at the point where he sees his old friend Marshal Bill Barstow being murdered, and his son Tom Barstow being arrested for theft and murder, which was actually committed by the gang. Nevada frees Tom from prison and provides Tom with shelter in a cafe run by Clem Martin, Tom's father-in-law. Sandy, meanwhile, has taken an "undercover" job in the saloon and learns a lot about the gang's plans that way.
