The Singing Vagabond plot
"The Old West Flames Anew!"
Lettie Morgan runs away from home. She runs into a group of performers and is mistakenly mistaken for the new "leading lady" the group has been waiting for. On their way to California, they are attacked, but rescued by Capt. Tex Autry and his people. Tex blames the group for going unprotected. Lettie does not accept this and reports Autry's behavior to his superior. Meanwhile, horses are stolen from the fortress and Tex gives chase without notifying anyone. Upon his return, Tex is accused of desertion and is sentenced to death. Tex manages to escape with the help of his friends.
