The Phantom of the West plot
Jim Lester (Tom Tyler) is a young man whose father is murdered. Francisco Cortez is charged with the murder, but before he can be tried, he escapes from prison. Cortez leaves a note in which he names seven men who can identify the real killer. Jim is also convinced that Francisco Cortez, the father of his girlfriend Mona (Dorothy Gulliver), is innocent. He goes in search of the seven people who know more about the identity of the culprit, who is known only by the name Phantom.
