The Old Barn Dance plot
Horse sales plummet when a tractor company comes up. But the tractors are a long way from replacing the horses and the company appears to be a gang of scammers. Sally Dawson gets Gene to sign a contract binding him to sing on her languishing radio station. Gene sells horses, but what he doesn't know is that the sponsor of the radio station is the tractor company he's been fighting against. The ranchers who have bought tractors but are unable to meet the payments blame Gene.
