Powder Kilgore kills Jeff Cameron, the owner of a transportation company. Jeff's daughter 'Spunky' Cameron enlists the help of the gunslinger Wild Bill Saunders. Bill finds that few people care about Kilgore's gang. Bill gets permission from Governor Dawson to start a rangers organization with former inmates. These prisoners must promise to stay on the straight and narrow. With his rangers, Bill manages to get some of Kilgore's gang members behind bars. Meanwhile, Lightning Barlow, an accomplice of Kilgore's, offers Spunky protection in exchange for half of the stake in her father's transportation company.
