Two years ago, only one of the infamous McDade brothers survived an explosion during a robbery. However, no one knows who, not even Mother McDade. All the while she anxiously awaits the return of her son along with her four daughters-in-law. When cowboy Dan Kehoe (Clark Gable) arrives at the ranch, the four women try to seduce him. He takes advantage of these advances to find out where the McDades' loot is hidden.

A quietly rippling film, not a western with a lot of action, but a film that puts 4 beautiful actresses in a beautiful light.
Clark Gable played his role noticeably with pleasure, but with 4 beautiful ladies that is of course nothing strange. 
Nice to take with you, beautiful images of the ranch and lots of female beauty.

Very enjoyable little one, certainly not one of the better films that icon Gable has left us, but the fun the makers had during the shooting certainly spreads over to the viewing audience. Title covers the load quite well, and if you expect this to be no more than an answer to the question whether Clark finds a real sweetheart and maybe a nice girl, it won't disappoint.

Entertaining western with an interesting plot where Clark Gable charmingly tries to trick the 5 women into finding the gold. But the 4 daughters-in-law also try to seduce him and forge plans to achieve their goal. Well set up, nice idea and 4 charming ladies, each of which has a certain attraction. For example, Eleanor Parker as Sabina is smart and decisive. Jean Willes as Ruby a cold-hearted woman who knows his stuff. Barbara Nichols as Birdie the beautiful defiant naive and Sara Shane as Oralie perhaps the daughter-in-law with the most style. Actually you know who will eventually run off with the gold, but also which daughter-in-law will be the lucky one. It's just a shame that the lock no longer pays attention to the mother and the three remaining daughters-in-law. 6/10
