"The whole wild west watched.. And held its breath."
When his brother Ed is cowardly killed with a gunshot in the back, Bat Masterson agrees to run for the sheriff's election. Bat has to take on the current corrupt Sheriff Jim Regan. Bat didn't want to be a sheriff at first, but his devout girlfriend Pauline Howard is also on it. Bat learns that the real killer is someone else than he expected and willfully violates the law when he helps his old friend Ben Townsend. This puts his own job and life at risk.
