The Firefly of Tough Luck plot

'Tough Luck' Baxter, returning from a business trip, meets Happy Jack Clarke, a former resident of Baxter City, a thriving town that became a ghost town when the gold ran out. The outcome of a card game then makes Clarke decide to go back to Baxter City, where he and 'Tough Luck' go looking for ore. Meanwhile, Firefly, a New York music hall entertainer with no job, is assigned by her parasitic husband Bert Wilcox to perform at the dance hall in Baxter City.
