The Driftin' Kid plot
"He's LEAD POISON! When the kid drifts in...gunmen duck out! Trouble brings this human tornado on the run with guns blazin' and fists flyin'!"
Jim Vernon, an Arizona rancher, has a contract to supply 200 wild horses to the Mexican government. The horses are stolen by a gang and Mexican authorities send Tom Sterling to investigate the theft. When he arrives at the scene, Sterling is mistaken for Vernon. Since the two look very similar, the two switch identities. Gang leader Ace Reed hides the 200 horses at Vernon's ranch in the expectation that Vernon will be hanged for horse theft. That way the gang can take over the ranch and fulfill the contract with the Mexican government.
