The Christmas Kid plot
During Christmas in 1855, a woman dies giving birth to her son. Three prominent residents adopt the child and name him Joe. The boy is soon referred to as 'The Christmas Kid' by the locals. When he grows up, he accepts the job of sheriff in the town, which is threatened in its tranquility by the gambler Mike Culligan. During a fight in a saloon, Joe's real father is murdered and Joe renounces weapons. Then his girlfriend is killed by Culligan's henchmen and Joe has no choice but to take up arms again.
