In Ludlow, Texas, Larry Kincaid and his father Jim run a stagecoach line. Larry and Jim are good friends with Joan Harper and her brother Bob, despite being rivals. John Appleby, an evil banker from Ludlow, hires the gunfighter Shoshone Larsen with some henchmen to pit both owners of the stagecoach lines against each other. Since gold has been found near the neighboring and fast-growing town of Kingman, Appleby wants to build and own a road between Ludlow and Kingman. Larsen poses as Larry Kincaid and steals the Harpers' horses. Larry wants to clear his name and he manages to take out some of Larsen's henchmen. Jim Kincaid is injured in a revenge attack by Larsen. Meanwhile, Larsen's actions threaten to bankrupt the Harpers and Appleby's plan appears to be succeeding.
