Texas Lawmen plot
"RANGER CRACKS CHAIN OF STAGECOACH HOLDUPS!"
Sheriff Thorne of King City, Texas, who was fatally wounded in a shooting with Morrow's gang, hands over his sheriff's star to his deputy Tod Merrick. The Morrow gang consists of outlaws Bart Morrow, his son Steve and Ed Mason. Texas Ranger Johnny Mack Brown is assigned to investigate Sheriff Thorne's death. Johnny Mack Brown visits new Sheriff Tod Merrick, where he also finds outlaw Bart Morrow. Bart Morrow turns out to be Tod Merrick's father, but it turns out that Bart's son Tod used to be a bank robber and wanted to start a new life with a new name. Not long after, the Morrow gang is involved in a stagecoach robbery, and Johnny Mack Brown is convinced Sheriff Tod Merrick may have been the tipster. However, Tod appears to be badly injured during the arrest attempt of his father Bart.
