"GALLOPING THRILL-HOT ADVENTURE! BLAZING SERIAL GLORY!"
Tex Granger runs into young Timmy Perkins on his way to Three Buttes. Timmy guards a shipment of gold he just rescued from a stagecoach robbery by Blaze Talbot and Reno. Tex and Timmy hand the gold to the addressee Rance Carson. However, Carson uses this gold for illegal land transactions. Tex is persuaded by Helen Kent to take over the local newspaper. When Blaze shows up in Three Buttes, a war ensues between rival gangs. Tex puts on a mask and he becomes the masked 'The Midnight Rider of the Plains'. He hopes in this way to bring order back to Three Buttes.
