"New Songs! New Laughs! New Adventures!"
Talent scout Sue Warner (Roberts) takes Gene Autry to Hollywood. Once arrived, it appears that Gene has to take on the role of the singing donkey. Horrified, Gene returns to his hometown of Whispering Rock. There he stumbles upon the secret plan of a couple of bandits. They want to blow up Gene's ranch and drown his animals.
