"ADVENTURE BIG AS TODAY'S GREAT SOUTHWEST!"
With his grandfather and his two young sons (Steve and Yoyo), young widower Sam Crockett travels from Kansas City to their homeland in rural Texas. The family owns a piece of land there and tries to build a new life. They soon run into financial difficulties and experience the pressure and power of their wealthy neighbor Rod Marshall. Crockett meanwhile has an affair with Marshall's sister-in-law, who is actually destined to marry the local doctor. Crockett's problems come to a head when his grandfather suffers a stroke.
