"STOP IT! STOP ALL THIS KILLING!"
Former Confederate soldier Bedloe Mason and his four sons drive to a small town, intending to commit a bank robbery. Nervous son Wes suddenly hears a suspicious 'click' and shoots a 9-year-old boy, who turns out to have a toy gun. The Mason clan flee the town, but the youngest son Gray feels a pang of conscience and decides to return to town. He is staying at John and Nora Willoughby's house. What Gray doesn't know is that they are the parents of Peter, the killed boy. Nora recognizes Gray as one of the Confederates, but she remains silent to avoid further violence. But when John learns of Gray's true identity, he sets out to avenge the death of his son Peter.
