Pioneer Scout plot

Fred is a scout who guides a caravan of settlers led by Old Bill through California's Mojave Desert on his clever horse Silver King. This trek is not without its dangers. In the town of Last Chance, Fred comes into an armed conflict with saloon owner Handy Anderson, who has provoked attacks by Native Americans with the help of whites dressed as Native Americans. Fred also falls in love with settler Mary Baxter along the way.
