"ARROW-STREAKED ADVENTURE! BULLET-SCARRED STORY!!!"
Cavalryman Captain Hunt is proud to have a good relationship with Indian chief Acoma. Hunt was involved in a peace treaty with the Native Americans during the Abraham Lincoln presidency. After Lincoln's assassination, Hunt's superiors are less lenient with the Indians, which means, among other things, that Chief Acona is back on the warpath. Hunt tries to talk to Acona with a small group of like-minded people. Along the way, Hunt picks up the saloon singer Cherry. She is the sole survivor of an attack on the stagecoach by Native Americans.
