Louis L'Amour's Down the Long Hills plot
A blood sheet that unfolded in the midst of a caravan of wagons has left two young children alone. They only have support for each other and for their faithful horse Big Red in their struggle against the harsh laws of nature. Among other things, they have to deal with horse thieves and they cannot escape other setbacks that make it difficult for them to find their family again.
