Lawless Code plot
Curly Blake is the nephew and heir to wealthy Red Rock rancher Jed Gordon. Curly tries to convince his uncle not to invest in obscure land deals promoted by the corrupt Harmon Steele, a former judge, and his secretary Lem Martin. However, Jed doesn't trust Curly because he thinks Curly cheated on Tom Blaine and Carter at a poker game, and he goes into business with Steele anyway. Jed is unaware that Blaine and Carter have been bribed by Steele. Some time later, Jed realizes that Steele is a con artist and confronts Steele, who then kills him with Blaine's gun. Steele, Martin, Blaine and Carter blame Curly for his uncle's murder and he is arrested. Curly manages to escape and hides with Jimmy Wakely and his faithful friend Cannonball. Jimmy and Canonball try to set a trap for Steele by kidnapping his fiancée Rita Caldwell.
