Joe Crist is a successful bounty hunter who has developed a reputation over the past three years as a hard-boiled killer. While in town to visit an old friend, he takes on a job tracking down a missing girl. During his investigation, Crist is shot and ends up in a coma. When he awakens forty days later, he discovers that he has been given a godlike power. With his newfound powers, Crist saves people from the icy grip of death and brings the vicious gang that rules the town to justice with fear and violence.
