The rancher Ann Martin tries to switch to milk production, but is losing a lot of money for the time being. Richard Howe is sent to Ann by his boss - a bank manager - to get her to sell her ranch before she goes bankrupt. When Bert Travis, the foreman at Ann's ranch, agrees to the sale, Howe becomes suspicious: he learns that Travis and his boss are working together. The reason: There's silver in the ground, and Ann doesn't know it.
