Pony Express rider Art Taylor comes to the rescue of Calvert Carter and his daughter Alice when he receives an offer to sell his land to Lambert Ashley, a capitalist from the east. Carter's land is exactly in the area needed to build the intended railroad. On Taylor's advice, Calvert declines the offer, but that isn't the end of the matter as far as Lambert Ashley is concerned. Carter also has to deal with the foreign agent Gaspard, who works for Ashley's competitor. Moreover, an Indian revolt threatens and a vigilante does not make things any quieter in the area.
