In Old Monterey plot
The army wants to take over the ranchers' land and a number of plantations. They are bidding on the land, but owner Stevenson (Hale) is not happy with this. He orders his men to blow up ranches everywhere and make it look like an army attack. He hopes that this will allow the military to offer more. Gene Autry and his partner Frog Millhouse (Burnette) are sent to investigate the affair, but they find themselves caught up in the war between the military and the ranchers that is about to erupt!
