John Abbott travels from the east to his territory in the west after being injured in a shooting with hired gunfighter Chick Chance. John befriends rancher Andrew Naab and his son David. Andrew Naab's daughter Miriam falls in love with John. Miriam was actually married off to Snap Thornton by her father. On her wedding day, Miriam flees and is kidnapped by outlaw Henry Holderness. John, Andrew and David Naab and neighboring ranchers start a search for Miriam.
