Rancher Amos Shelby has one day left to pay off his loan on the ranch and he sends his son Freddie to the bank to report that the installment will be paid. Freddie is forced by the gambler to tell Ripley that Ann, Freddie's sister, is bringing the money from Salina. On the way, she is ambushed, but she and the money are saved by Johnny Mack.
