Cowboy Johnny Edwards rescues the attractive Carolyn Johnson from the masked outlaw gang the 'Vigilantes'. When his friend Bill Weston is mortally wounded by the Vigilantes, Johnny promises Bill to take revenge on the outlaws. Johnny moves incognito among the Vigilantes and learns that bank manager Charles W. Gifford is in charge and that his long-lost brother Jeff is Gifford's right-hand man. Marshal Jim Collins also appears to be corrupt. Collins does not appear when during a conflict between Jeff and Gifford Jeff is killed by Gidfford. Angry over his brother's death, Johnny wants to go to the bank, but on the way he finds Gifford and Marshal Collins at a shop robbery. The evil townspeople are tired of the Vigilants and they want to help Johnny fight the outlaws.
