"DOUBLE HANGING -- DOUBLE THRILLS!"
On his way to his home in West Texas, solitary Tom Buchanan passes through the border town of Agryville, California. There, Tom is confronted by a feud between several members of the Agry family. When Tom wants to help Mexican Juan de la Vega in his revenge on one of the Agries, the whole family turns against him.

Western with a certain cult reputation.
Starts off a bit thin with the stranger entering a hostile town and getting involved in a murder.
It's all going well, but somewhat comparable to the typical fifties western.
The highlight is the great shoot-out at the end.

Strong collaboration between Boetticher and Scott, who this time focuses on a somewhat unfortunate arrival in a town on the southern border region. The town looked familiar to me from Rio Bravo, but the decor of the whole thing looked a little different here and there. Scott has a great role and the images are beautifully and atmospherically shot. Furthermore, LQ Jones, Peter Whitney, Barry Kelley and Craig Stevens also play a great role and the film contains a number of interesting action scenes, making this light-hearted western a very entertaining one.

Nice film in which a man on his horse ends up in a town that is more or less in the hands of one family. The developments follow each other at a fast pace, which makes this western easy to watch (the film is certainly not too long). However, it does not really impress anywhere and it is all quite standard.
