Beyond the Law plot
Former convict John Glenn has been tried and convicted of the murder of a train guard during a robbery. Railroad detective Tim Weston's evidence and Glenn's own refusal to testify lead to his death sentence. Glenn's daughter Helen, however, seeks Tim's help in proving her father's innocence. He had told her that his previous conviction had been for the murder of his wife's admirer in a fit of jealousy. Helen also tells Tim that five years after his first murder conviction, her father was just trying to start his life over as a car mechanic, but he was then charged with the murder of the train guard. Tim agrees to help Helen.
