Badlands of Montana plot
"Lash for every crime he did not commit!"
In a fair fight, Rex Reason accidentally killed his opponent. This forces him to flee from his hometown of Cascade, for fear of being lynched. During his escape attempt, he ends up in the hideout of Meyer's gang of thieves. There, Reason falls in love with Beverly Garland, Meyer's daughter. After a while, the members of the gang vote on whether Reason should become one of them or leave them. Meyer doesn't like this, he thinks Reason isn't really one of them. But the majority is in favour, so Meyer has to accept it. After a long time has passed, Reason gets involved in a bank robbery through the gang. He is caught and arrested. But here he is faced with a strange choice: either he goes straight to jail or he returns to Cascade as a local sheriff.
