A better camp movie.

But mainly because of the part outside the camp. I found the first half hour very boring and bland. The start of the escape isn't much either, only when the men finally have the train in their hands it gets a bit fun. But we're already halfway through the movie.

I always like Sinatra as an actor, although he doesn't have to do much here. A special ending, but Sinatra apparently didn't feel like a sequel. Apart also the role of Raffaella Carrà, who is not only short, but also the only female role in the entire film. The rest of the cast is especially unremarkable.

This Von Ryan's Express actually saves everything until the end. That last bit of escape is fortunately still quite exciting and ensures a good end to a fairly bland and salt-free film. This did not save the film, but it does leave a somewhat better impression.

1.5*

It is a nice film in the war genre and it also does well in the list of the newer films in terms of setting, story and actor performance.

Let's face it, Trevor Howard and James Brolin and also the famous Sinatra are not the worst actors you could ask for a movie like this. They do their job well and without murmuring (I hope) and the film can be called a success.

There is enough building tension in the film and that is what the viewers of this genre are all about.

The "cozy chair" gives it a nice 7 as a rating!
