Les Hommes d'Argile plot
The young Sulayman lives on “la roche d'Argile” in Morocco in perfect harmony with the fauna and flora. An orphan, he was raised by an old hermit nicknamed "with the turbulent veins". Sulayman meets Kadija, the daughter of Caïd, the head of an immense region. The latter, lusting only for power, cannot accept his daughter's marriage to a shepherd. At the outbreak of the Second World War, the young shepherd is conscripted into the French army. He soon finds himself in unfamiliar territory that is both intriguing and dangerous to him. Immersed in the atrocities of war, he decides at all costs to maintain a form of humanity among the ill-fated Moroccan soldiers who gain very little from the global conflict.
