Fortunes of War plot

Sergeant Mason and his less-than-stellar commandos botch a raid on a Nazi convoy in Normandy and find themselves on the run from a growing force of Germans from the Wehrmacht. They retreat to a shabby farmhouse and dig in for the impending siege, despite the reluctance of the Belgian owner, Julien, who is reluctant to be labeled a partisan. Julien is also hiding a secret there, something that plays a role in the negotiations with the presiding SS general, Horseler.
