"T-H-R-I-L-L AMERICA! Here come The Flying "HELL CATS"!"
Alan Drake, though fairly inexperienced, is drafted into the elite "Hell Cats" flying squadron stationed in San Diego. During an exercise, he immediately gets into trouble by ruining his team's win. He nevertheless befriends Banning, an officer with whom he works on a device that makes it easier for a plane to land in the fog. During a test, Banning is killed and it's up to Drake to make sure his death wasn't in vain.
