A Soldier's Sweetheart plot

In the war-torn jungles of Vietnam, a soldier, Rat, is killing time telling a history that sounds so utterly improbable, it might actually be true. The story begins when a lone hospital soldier manages to do the unbelievable: he manages to bring his stunning American girlfriend Marianne over to the war zone. For the small squad of war-worn medics, Marianne's arrival is a dream that reminds them of the 'normal' world they have had to leave behind.
