831, Voyage Incertain plot

In the year 831, Charlemagne's weak successor reigns. The country is ravaged by riots and mutual wars. Jean, a young horseman and Karl, a wounded sergeant, soon become the only survivors of a group wiped out by bandits. They make a difficult and dangerous journey through the forest, accompanied by a girl, a bum and a child.
