"A Father. A Missing Child. A Mission."
Eduard Zuiderwijk (Marco Borsato) has realized his dreams in Africa. However, his dream is shattered when his wife dies in an accident and not much later the political situation in the African country becomes unstable. After a violent raid on a nearby village, his son's best friend is kidnapped and brutally trained as a child soldier. Loss and powerlessness, hope and anger, fear and conviction have been central to Eduard Zuiderwijk's life from that moment on.

Heartbreaking subject and inhumane conditions in a few scenes penetratingly portrayed, but this is not an overall successful film and singer Borsato is not to blame for that. But there are weak moments in the script, with very mediocre dialogue and finally, what bothered the most was the ridiculous way the action closing scenes were delivered. A bit ridiculous and yet unreal and actually gives the seriousness of the film an adventurous atmosphere.
Positive is certainly the attention that is paid to the fact that such child soldiers can really be molded into ruthless warriors in a short time, to the extent that even their past lives no longer have any meaning.

Not a best movie...
Acting performances were dramatic. Marco Borsato has to keep singing, because he can't do anything about it. His son ( Thomas ) also made very little of it.
Story was quite nice at times, but some scenes completely missed the mark in terms of originality. Everything was so terribly predictable...
Only fun was some action now and then.

White light,
Yesterday I watched the movie White light with Marco Borsato. I thought it was a great film full of emotion and a realistic rendering, we (enjoyed it) to the extent that enjoyed is appropriate here given the subject.
This movie deserves a solid 4 stars for me.
