Keanu Reeves sometimes has his moments: one time he plays in unforgettable films such as The Matrix and Constantine and the other time he poops out a lazy loafer. That was also the case with The Wachter, which was also a cliché film. Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy myself on my boring Sunday evening with this film. Reeves is a psycho psycho this time and James Spader is allowed to follow. To be honest I also expected something more shocking (something in the vein of Se7en or something) but that was not so bad.

Also a very entertaining video. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, I thought it was quite a standard movie. The acting didn't really convince me either, it came across as rather B-movie-like. Other than that, the film was not boring and it was interesting.

Lots of negative criticism here, but I really don't think this is a bad movie. Excellent role by James Spader, first apathetic, then determined, both equally convincing, and Keanu Reeves also does a good job, culminating in the scene in the elevator and then in the hallway, when the viewer knows more than Spader[/ spoiler], which creates a nice oppressive atmosphere. In addition, a not bad plot (with that fascinating search for the meaning of details in the enlarged photo of the girl in the photo shop) and a nice explosive climax. Perhaps not all that much new and fairly predictable, but still enjoyed it for ninety minutes.
