The Girl with No Number plot

Vietnamese Phuong Ly is a young and pretty daughter of a fruit merchant who is crazy about her boyfriend. However, his wealthy mother has higher aspirations for her son and causes them to break up. Heartbroken and overwhelmed by a financial burden, she travels to Saigon in hopes of finding a solution to her family's financial situation. Desperate and lonely, she becomes entangled in the dark underworld of marriage agencies. She hopes that the foreign man she has agreed to marry will give her and her family a better life. Phuong Ly leaves her motherland for the promising America. It soon becomes clear that her new husband has sinister intentions for her. She must now try to escape from the nightmare she has landed in.
