Surrealistic with restrained horror images and unfortunately, an all too clichéd storyline and an expected denouement.

Interpretations, cinematically and in terms of soundtrack, he is the best. However, it didn't really matter.

A strong thriller that is just well put together. A woman has a vision of a murdered old woman and then remembers all the details down to the last detail. When she finds the skeleton of a woman walled in at her new husband's mansion , the details from the vision slowly trickle down to reality. I thought it was an exciting film because you try to fit all those puzzle pieces together, while Fulci gradually reveals hints that lead to the denouement. As a result, this thriller has become a fairly interactive game between director and audience, although in retrospect it was just a tad too predictable. .

Fulci.

After seeing this film I am sure that I and this director will not become friends, because this film is also probably a fairly solid fail. Fulci is a bit the Argento without color in my opinion. Focused on style, but executed in a very old-fashioned and annoying way.

To start off in a positive way, the film has a genuinely good story where all the puzzle pieces fit together in a good way. Nice how details are worked in this film and how a vague clue is eventually fully worked out. Although it was difficult for me to get through the style, I found it fun to follow and the twists are also in the right place.

Unfortunately, in terms of directing, things continue to go wrong. Fulci aims for style, as I mentioned earlier, but does so in a rather peculiar way. He continues to zoom in on the cast very restlessly and almost aggressively, repeating this until it becomes downright frustrating. The film is in no way tightly shot, the practical effects are transparent and the horror side of the story is not excitingly developed.

In addition, the acting is also to cry. No emotion, but no convincing dialogues at any time. It all feels very cheesy. Fulci chooses a mysterious path in this film and that manages to work substantively, but the elaboration of the rest is simply not to be seen, and that is despite a well-thought-out story.

The Psychic isn't a bad movie, but I think it's the last Fulci I'm putting on for now. If I watch another one soon, it's because there was company present, not because I want to see it so much myself. Interestingly written, but directed in a dramatic way. I really hate Fulci's style.
