Sacrifice plot

"Every life has a price"

Surgeon consultant Tora Hamilton moves with her husband Duncan to the remote Shetland Islands, 100 miles off the northeastern coast of Scotland. Deep in the peat bog surrounding her home, Tora discovers the body of a young woman with marks scratched into her skin and a gaping hole where her heart once beat. Despite warnings to put it to rest, Tora discovers terrifying connections to a legend.

A detective-like thriller that moves slowly and not very captivatingly towards the end.
Woman encounters strange events that seem to be connected to an ancient legend about pure bloodlines and ritual murder. Throughout the film, she tries to prove that a group of men still perform those rituals today. She is persistent and tirelessly tireless in doing so.
The mystery is then not played out very well. The course is quite predictable.
Furthermore, we see the familiar cinematic tricks to increase the tension. "The heroine is always just barely caught. The heroine always sees that one suspicious detail." That kind of tricks.
They unnecessarily stretch the film and, together with the predictability, actually take away a lot of the tension.
Moderate.
