Nadie Conoce a Nadie plot
During Holy Week, Simón (Eduardo Noriega), a young creator of cryptic and semi-literary crosswords for a newspaper in Seville, is faced with a mysterious phone call in which someone gives him the word 'opponent' in a yet-to-be-published crossword. A bizarre incident with a deadly outcome ensues and Simón slowly but surely understands that he has ended up in a murderous game. Literal. It is up to Simón to decipher his immediate environment like a cryptogram and thus not only save his own body but also prevent a catastrophe.
