Long Hello and Short Goodbye plot

When ex-gangster Ben Kurten is released from prison, Police Chief Kahnitz sets out to do everything he can to get him back behind bars as soon as possible. He enlists the beautiful undercover agent Melody to break into the circle of friends of the former robber. Melody tries her best to gain Ben's trust, but Ben rarely reveals anything about his past and shows little interest in a new, lucrative job. Melody decides to come up with a plan to frame Ben. But the more time she spends with him, the more she begins to feel for him...
