Impasse du Désir plot

50-year-old psychiatrist and analyst Robert discovers that his 30-year-old wife Carole is having an affair with a man much younger than himself. He is overwhelmed and can no longer concentrate on his patients. This until he meets Leo, Leo is single, depressed and has never forgotten his relationship with an actress from fifteen years ago. The two talk a lot, but then Carole informs Robert that she is leaving him for good.
