Dreamkiller plot

A team of doctors is working on a new experiment, a form of psychotherapy, with which they hope to cure patients suffering from chronic anxiety attacks. Soon the patients are found dead, but the strange thing is that they died the way the patients had based their fears. Who or what brought these fears to life?
