Katharina Almeda's life seems almost perfect: a beautiful house, two beautiful children and a happy marriage to the successful businessman Max. But the so-called idyllic family life suddenly comes to an end on the seventh birthday of their daughter Sofia. Max, who returned surprisingly early from a business trip, is arrested at his daughter's birthday party. Quite a shock to the family, but this is just the beginning. Shortly afterwards Max disappears under mysterious circumstances from the place where he was locked up, Katharina is faced with the shards of her broken happiness, with two children at hand and the investigative police in the house. In the search for her husband, Katharina finds herself deeper and deeper into a nightmare, a whirlpool that sucks her deeper and deeper into misery. Apparently there is no one who can or wants to help her...
